Every person who proposes to be a candidate in the 2026 Municipal Election must file a Nomination Form. Municipal Council Nomination forms must be endorsed by at least 25 persons on the prescribed form. Forms may be filed at the City Clerk’s Office, City of Quinte West, 7 Creswell Drive, Trenton, during regular office hours starting Friday, May 1, 2026, until end of business day on Thursday, August 20, 2026 and on Nomination Day, Friday, August 21, 2026 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. for candidates for the following offices, to serve during the term of November 15, 2026 to November 14, 2030:

Nominations for all offices shall be made on the prescribed form and shall be accompanied by the prescribed nomination filing fee of $200.00 for the Office of Mayor and $100.00 for all other offices (cash, certified cheque or money order). The nomination form must be signed by the candidate, and may be filed in person or by an agent as set forth in section 33 of the Municipal Elections Act.
